Test Android deep links and push notifications with an AI agent.

The commands

phonebox open opens a URL or deep link when the argument has a scheme. The notifications action opens the shade, and look reads it as text like any other screen.

Terminal
phonebox open "myapp://orders/4471"
phonebox look
phonebox act '[{"type": "notifications"}]'
phonebox look

Hand it to your agent

Paste into your agent
Install the debug APK on my Phonebox phone. Open each deep link in
docs/deep-links.md with phonebox open and check it lands on the right
screen. Then trigger a test push, open the notification shade and tap it.
Report every link or notification that lands somewhere wrong.

Because the agent quotes the screen it saw, a broken link comes back as “myapp://orders/4471 opened the home screen instead of order #4471”, not a screenshot to squint at.

Questions

How do I test Android deep links automatically?

Open each link on a cloud Android phone with phonebox open "myapp://path" (or an open_url action), then read the screen with phonebox look and check the expected text. An AI agent can run through a whole list of links and report which ones land on the wrong screen.

Can an agent tap a push notification?

Yes. The notifications action opens the notification shade, observe reads it as text, and a tap on the notification's text opens it. The agent then reads the screen it landed on.

What does it cost?

$0.06 per phone-minute while the phone runs, billed per second with a one-minute minimum. Parked phones are free and keep their apps and sign-ins. New accounts get $2 of credit with no card.
