Test a location-based Android app from any city, with an AI agent.
How it works
phonebox location sets the GPS position that apps on the phone read, in decimal degrees, and sets the timezone found there unless you pass --keep-timezone. The REST API also sets the locale, so the same check can run in another language.
phonebox location 51.5072 -0.1276 # London; the timezone follows

phonebox location 35.6762 139.6503 # Tokyo
phonebox lookYour agent reads each screen as text, so it can compare cities line by line: which stores appear, which currency the price uses, whether the delivery window matches the local time.
What to check
- Availability: features, stores or products that should appear only in some regions.
- Time: opening hours, delivery slots and reminders across timezones.
- Formats: currency, dates and addresses after changing the locale through the API.

Questions
How do I test an Android app in another location?
Set the phone's location with phonebox location LAT LNG or PUT /v1/phones/{id}/location. Phonebox sets the GPS position apps read, and the timezone found there unless you ask it not to. Then open the app and observe what it shows. Reset with phonebox location <id> reset.
Does changing the location change the phone's IP address?
The location setting changes the GPS position and timezone that apps read. To change where the phone appears to be on the network, choose its country when you create it.
What does it cost?
$0.06 per phone-minute while the phone runs, billed per second with a one-minute minimum. Parked phones are free and keep their apps and sign-ins. New accounts get $2 of credit with no card.
